Fit and care

●Chest first: measure around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs. For a deep-chested dachshund, this is the measurement that matters most.
●Then neck and back: measure around the base of the neck, and from the base of the neck to where you'd like the vest to finish.
●Between sizes: go up a size. This vest runs slightly snug, and measurements can vary by 1 to 3 cm.
●Washing: use a gentle cool wash, ideally inside a laundry bag, then air dry flat to keep the fleece soft and the quilting in shape.

Which size fits a miniature dachshund?+

Most minis fall between M and XL depending on their chest, so please measure rather than guess. Larger standard dachshunds with a chest over 52 cm will find this vest too small.

Can my dachshund wear a harness with it?+

Yes. Pop the vest on first, then fit the Doxie Gang Harness over the top and re-check the straps, since the extra layer can change how snugly it sits.

Can I walk my dachshund from the D-ring?+

It's fine for short, calm moments, but for everyday walks we recommend a harness. A harness spreads the load across the chest instead of the neck, which matters for a breed prone to back problems.
